We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented Janitor to oversee the cleanliness, minor maintenance, and general upkeep of our building and facilities. In this role, you will go beyond basic cleaning duties, acting as a custodian responsible for ensuring that all indoor and outdoor areas are safe, fully functional, and highly hygienic for employees and visitors. You will balance physical stamina with technical resourcefulness, managing industrial cleaning equipment and executing minor building repairs as they arise. Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive Facility Sanitization: Clean, sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors, carpets, hallways, and stairwells across commercial offices or educational spaces.

Restroom & Breakroom Deep Cleaning: Disinfect and sanitize toilets, sinks, mirrors, and countertops daily; restock essential inventory such as paper towels, hand soap, and sanitary items.

Waste & Hazard Management: Empty all interior trash, compost, and recycling bins, ensuring proper disposal in external dumpsters; clear outdoor walkways of litter, debris, or spills immediately.

Minor Building Maintenance: Execute minor facility repairs, such as replacing burnt-out lightbulbs, fixing loose doorknobs, clearing minor drain clogs, and tightening hardware.

Heavy Equipment Operation: Safely operate industrial cleaning machinery, including floor buffers, ride-on scrubbers, commercial carpet extractors, and high-pressure washers.

Chemical Safety & Inventory Auditing: Dilute and handle heavy-duty cleaning chemicals strictly adhering to Safety Data Sheets (SDS); monitor supply stocks and submit purchase requests for tools and solutions.

Facility Security & Lockup: Assist in securing the facility at the end of shifts by locking exterior doors, closing windows, turning off non-essential utilities, and activating alarm systems.

Requirements & Qualifications
Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience; vocational training in building maintenance, plumbing, electrical basics, or industrial safety compliance is a plus.

Experience: 1–3+ years of experience in commercial janitorial services, facility maintenance, building custody, or hospitality asset management.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in operating and maintaining industrial floor care equipment and basic mechanical hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, plungers).

Solid knowledge of workplace chemical handling, hazard communication standards, and safe storage of volatile materials.

Ability to read, track, and log daily facility maintenance manifests and work orders via digital checklists or paper forms.

Personal Attributes:

Exceptional physical health, stamina, and agility; capable of lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly, climbing ladders, and staying active throughout long shifts.

Sharp situational awareness to spot facility safety hazards, structural defects, or structural wear and tear early.

Highly reliable, early to shifts, and disciplined, with a strong ability to manage time efficiently when working independently.

A courteous and helpful professional with clear communication skills to report facility updates smoothly to management.
