Check with seller Riggers (Entertainment-specific) / Setup Crew
- Location: Ha Noi City, vietnam
We are seeking a highly skilled, safety-obsessed, and physically fearless Entertainment Rigger / Setup Crew Member to lead the overhead structural installation for our live concerts, festivals, theater productions, and major events. In this role, you will be responsible for the critical calculation, assembly, and hoisting of heavy overhead equipment, including lighting trusses, massive audio line-arrays, LED video screens, and scenic special effects. You will balance extreme physical stamina and comfort with heights with sharp mechanical precision, utilizing specialized motors, steel cables, and rigging hardware to ensure all overhead structures are completely secure. If you possess a profound respect for safety codes, exceptional spatial awareness, and a proven track record of working flawlessly under high-stress setup windows, this is an outstanding opportunity to protect and elevate our production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Chalking & Point Mark-Out: Read, interpret, and convert structural engineering blueprints and rigging plots into physical markings on the venue floor, establishing exact points for overhead hoist motors.
Up-Rigging & Motor Hoisting: Climb to high venue beams, catwalks, or temporary roof grids to safely secure secondary steel cables, shackles, and high-capacity chain motors according to precise load calculations.
Down-Rigging & Ground Assembly: Assemble heavy aluminum truss configurations, counterweights, and fly systems on the ground; attach safety steel wires and secure load distribution straps before hoisting.
Overhead Gear Inspections: Conduct rigorous, mandatory safety inspections on all rigging hardware, chain hoists, spansets, and shackles daily, immediately grounding any worn or defective gear.
Coordinated Show-Time Flying: Collaborate with stage managers and technical directors to execute live cues during a show, flying set pieces, acrobatic lines, or scenic elements silently and precisely.
Post-Event Strike & Load-Out: Safely lower overhead equipment post-show, dismantling heavy steel lines, coiling heavy motor cables, sorting specific hardware bins, and packing equipment trucks securely.
Structural Safety Enforcement: Maintain absolute situational awareness on the event floor, enforcing strict personal protective equipment (PPE) rules and establishing safety exclusion zones underneath active overhead rigging lines.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience; holding recognized industry rigging certifications (e.g., ETCP Certified Entertainment Rigger, OSHA 10/30, or SPRAT/IRATA rope access credentials) is highly required.
Experience: 2–4+ years of hands-on experience as a rigger or advanced setup crew member in stadium concerts, arena touring, theatrical fly systems, or massive outdoor festivals.
Technical Skills:
Deep mathematical and mechanical proficiency in calculating load limits, bridge weights, center of gravity, and cable angles.
Expertise in tying high-strength rigging knots, operating electric chain hoists (e.g., CM Lodestar), and working with theatrical counterweight fly systems.
Proficiency in reading complex technical rigging plots, stage blueprints, and venue structural CAD drawings.
Personal Attributes:
Absolute comfort working at extreme heights (50–100+ feet) on open structures and catwalks, combined with exceptional balance and physical flexibility.
Excellent physical health and strength; capable of lifting up to 50–70 lbs repeatedly and pulling heavy chains or cables continuously.
Highly reliable, early to call times, and exceptionally disciplined, with an uncompromising commitment to human safety and detail under tight deadlines.
Clear, calm, and crisp verbal communication skills, especially when utilizing 2-way radios or standard hand signals in loud, high-pressure environments.
