We are seeking a friendly, efficient, and reliable Ticket Sales Clerk to join our front-of-house ticketing and customer service team. In this entry-level role, you will be the welcoming face at our ticket counters, responsible for handling basic, high-volume ticket sales and entry processing for cinemas, amusement parks, local museums, or standard entertainment venues. You will balance a warm customer service approach with a swift, accurate work ethic, processing straightforward transactions and scanning entries while keeping customer lines moving smoothly. If you possess a helpful attitude, good basic math skills, and a strong sense of punctuality, this is an outstanding opportunity to start your career in the hospitality and entertainment operations sector.
Key Responsibilities
Walk-up Ticket Processing: Greet arriving visitors warmly, input basic ticket selections into the point-of-sale system, and print physical admission passes or wristbands quickly.
Cash and Payment Handling: Process standard cash, credit card, and mobile app payments accurately; maintain a well-organized cash drawer and hand back exact change without delay.
Ticket Scanning & Entry Verification: Operate handheld digital scanners at entrance gates to verify barcodes, QR codes, and online booking confirmations for arriving guests.
Basic Information Provision: Share essential venue information with visitors, including general admission prices, operational hours, showtimes, location of amenities, and basic safety rules.
Queue Flow Management: Monitor the waiting area proactively, guiding guests to open counter registers and assisting in keeping the ticketing lines structured and efficient during peak rush hours.
Counter Workspace Maintenance: Keep the ticketing counter, screen surfaces, and brochure racks spotlessly clean, sanitized, and neatly stocked with promotional flyers or park maps.
Shift Cash Reconciliations: Count and verify the starting cash float before opening, and perform basic cash drawer balancing at the close of the shift alongside supervisors.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: High school diploma, GED, or currently enrolled student; basic training in retail sales or cash handling is a plus.
Experience: 0–1 year of experience; this is an entry-level role where a positive attitude and willingness to learn are highly valued over extensive past retail history.
Technical Skills:
Basic proficiency in operating standard touch-screen Point of Sale (POS) terminals, cash registers, and handheld digital scanning devices.
Good basic mathematical skills for counting money, verifying change, and calculating simple ticket bundle totals.
Ability to read, follow, and check off standard daily opening and closing checklist routines.
Personal Attributes:
Good physical stamina; comfortable standing or sitting at a ticketing station for extended periods during high-traffic shifts.
An articulate, naturally polite, and cheerful communicator who enjoys interacting with families, tourists, and the general public daily.
Highly reliable, disciplined, and strictly punctual to assigned shift schedules and event call times.
Sharp situational awareness to spot growing line bottlenecks, transaction errors, or guest confusion instantly and address them politely.
