Lecturer, Department of Human Resource and Talent Management
Job Overview
We are seeking an empathetic, strategic, and forward-thinking Lecturer in Human Resource and Talent Management to join our faculty. As the workplace evolves toward hybrid models, AI-driven recruitment, and increased focus on employee well-being, your role is to prepare the next generation of HR professionals to be strategic business partners. You will teach students how to balance the complexities of organizational goals with the essential human element that drives success, fostering a culture of high performance, inclusivity, and sustainable growth.
Job Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery: Lead courses in foundational and advanced HR topics, including Talent Acquisition & Onboarding, Performance Management, Compensation & Benefits, Organizational Behavior, Learning & Development, and Strategic HR Management.
Curriculum Innovation: Develop a curriculum that addresses modern workplace challenges, such as remote/hybrid work dynamics, employee experience (EX) design, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and HR analytics.
Applied Lab Facilitation: Manage practical workshops that focus on real-world HR scenarios, such as interviewing and selection simulations, conflict resolution roleplays, and data-driven workforce planning exercises.
Research & Scholarship: Conduct scholarly research on the future of work, talent retention, employee engagement, or the ethical application of AI in human resources.
Industry & Career Mentorship: Mentor students on their transition into professional HR roles. Facilitate networking opportunities with HR industry associations and corporate partners to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
Capstone Oversight: Guide students through capstone projects that require them to solve complex HR challenges—such as designing a total rewards program or developing a comprehensive organizational change management plan.
Departmental Collaboration: Contribute to curriculum accreditation, departmental strategic initiatives, and faculty committees focused on institutional excellence.
Job Requirements
Education: Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field (a PhD or professional certification like SHRM-SCP/SPHR is strongly preferred).
Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in Human Resources, Talent Management, or Organizational Development, combined with prior experience in tertiary teaching or professional training.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
Familiarity with data-driven HR practices (people analytics, workforce data visualization).
Strong knowledge of labor laws, compliance requirements, and employee relations best practices.
Soft Skills:
Emotional Intelligence: A high degree of empathy and the ability to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Strategic Vision: Ability to explain how HR strategy aligns with and supports overall business performance.
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills, capable of handling sensitive topics with professional discretion.
Adaptability: A keen interest in how technology and changing social values are redefining the employer-employee contract.
