Job Overview
We are seeking an innovative Lecturer and Researcher in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence to join our faculty. As the fusion of embodied intelligence and advanced algorithms continues to redefine industry, you will play a pivotal role in training the next generation of engineers who can design, build, and deploy intelligent autonomous systems. You will work at the cutting edge of the field, bridging the gap between theoretical AI models and their physical implementation in real-world robotics.
Job Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery: Lead core and advanced courses, including Robotics Kinematics & Dynamics, Computer Vision, Reinforcement Learning, AI for Robotics, Navigation & Path Planning, and Sensor Fusion.
Curriculum Development: Architect a forward-thinking curriculum that addresses the current shift toward embodied AI, edge computing, and human-robot collaboration.
Research & Laboratory Leadership: Establish a high-impact research lab focused on areas such as collaborative robotics (cobots), swarm intelligence, autonomous navigation, or generative AI for robotic manipulation. Secure research grants and publish in top-tier conferences (e.g., ICRA, IROS, NeurIPS).
Applied Lab Facilitation: Manage advanced workshops using modern platforms (e.g., mobile bases, robotic arms, UAVs) and simulation environments (Isaac Sim, Gazebo) to provide students with "full-stack" robotics experience.
Mentorship: Guide Master’s and PhD students through the complexities of research, from mathematical formulation and simulation to hardware testing and validation.
Industry & Research Collaboration: Partner with tech companies and robotics startups to apply research to industrial challenges, ensuring the department remains grounded in industry needs.
Departmental Collaboration: Contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives, including program accreditation, curriculum updates, and institutional research strategy.
Job Requirements
Education: PhD in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required.
Experience: A demonstrated track record of scholarly research with peer-reviewed publications. Prior experience in academic teaching or industry-led R&D is highly valued.
Technical Skills:
Programming: High proficiency in Python and C++ (essential for real-time robotics).
Frameworks: Expert knowledge of ROS/ROS2 and deep learning libraries (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
Simulation/Modeling: Experience with physics-based simulation environments and complex mathematical modeling of robotic systems.
Soft Skills:
Systems Thinking: Ability to integrate disparate domains (AI, mechanical design, control theory, and electronics) into a cohesive system.
Translational Capability: Proficiency in translating complex AI and control theory into accessible, hands-on learning modules.
Creative Problem-Solving: A mindset comfortable with the inherent "trial and error" nature of robotic research.
Collaborative Mindset: Desire to work across traditional academic silos, linking your work to fields like ethics, human-computer interaction, and data science.
Benefits
Competitive Compensation: Top-tier academic salary package, inclusive of start-up research funding, potential for consulting, and travel support for global conferences.
Professional Development: Dedicated support for publishing, grant applications, and fellowships, with time allocated for scholarly pursuits.
State-of-the-Art Facilities: Access to advanced robotics labs, specialized GPU clusters for model training, and a collaborative makerspace.
Comprehensive Benefits: Full insurance coverage, academic leave, and retirement benefits in accordance with local labor laws.
Career Growth: Defined pathways toward Tenured Associate/Full Professor, Research Lab Director, or Department Head.
Lecturer in Robotics & AI, Researcher in Autonomous Systems, AI for Robotics Faculty, Robotics Engineer (Academic), Assistant Professor (Robotics/AI).
Industry Keywords: Embodied AI, Reinforcement Learning, Computer Vision, Kinematics, ROS2, Sensor Fusion, Autonomous Navigation, Human-Robot Interaction (HRI).
Attributes: Innovative, Analytical, Visionary, Collaborative, Hands-on, Research-driven.
