Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and policy-savvy Training Support Specialist in Customs and Foreign Trade Management to join our team. As international trade regulations, cross-border compliance, and supply chain security become increasingly complex, your role is to support the training of future trade professionals. You will facilitate the delivery of curricula that cover global trade laws, import/export operations, tariff classification, and international logistics, ensuring learners are prepared to navigate the intricacies of global commerce.
Job Responsibilities
Program Coordination: Manage the logistical execution of trade training modules, ensuring that regulatory databases, instructional materials, and simulation platforms (e.g., customs declaration software) are optimized for learner use.
Instructional Support: Assist Lead Instructors in facilitating workshops on Incoterms®, HS Code classification, Rules of Origin, and international trade compliance frameworks (e.g., WCO standards).
Applied Lab Facilitation: Support practical sessions where learners perform mock customs entries, simulate import/export documentation cycles, and analyze trade risk/compliance scenarios.
Curriculum Maintenance: Assist in updating training materials to reflect current geopolitical shifts, changes in Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), and evolving digital customs clearance procedures.
Assessment & Feedback: Coordinate the grading of trade compliance case studies and documentation projects. Provide supplemental guidance to ensure technical accuracy in tariff application and trade documentation.
Industry & Stakeholder Liaison: Organize guest lectures with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and trade policy experts. Facilitate site visits to port facilities or customs hubs to bridge theory and practice.
Quality Assurance: Monitor training effectiveness through student feedback and regulatory accuracy assessments, providing actionable recommendations to enhance program outcomes.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, Customs Management, Law, or a related field (a professional certification in customs brokering or trade compliance is highly preferred).
Experience: 1–3 years of professional experience in customs brokerage, import/export operations, international logistics, or a related educational support role.
Technical Skills:
Strong command of Harmonized System (HS) classification and Incoterms®.
Familiarity with customs declaration software and global supply chain management tools.
Understanding of international trade laws, FTAs, and customs regulatory compliance.
Soft Skills:
Analytical Precision: High attention to detail required to handle complex documentation and regulatory requirements.
Communication: Ability to distill complex trade legislation into clear, practical guidance for students.
