We are seeking a practical, detail-oriented, and technically skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to support our engineering team in the development, testing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. In this role, you will be the vital link between conceptual design and physical reality, responsible for assisting with the assembly, troubleshooting, and validation of machinery, tools, and mechanical components. You will work closely with lead engineers to ensure that all equipment operates to exact specifications and safety standards. Key Responsibilities
System Assembly & Fabrication: Construct mechanical assemblies, prototypes, and test rigs based on engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.

Testing & Data Collection: Execute rigorous performance tests on mechanical components, using precision measurement tools and data acquisition systems to document findings.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose mechanical malfunctions in production machinery or prototypes, performing repairs and identifying root causes to prevent future failures.

Quality Control: Inspect parts and assemblies for adherence to blueprints, using calipers, micrometers, and other metrology equipment to verify tolerances.

Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate records of test results, maintenance logs, and design modifications, providing clear reports for the engineering team.

CAD/CAM Support: Assist engineers by creating basic CAD models, updating technical drawings, and preparing files for CNC machining or additive manufacturing.

Safety & Shop Operations: Ensure that all workshop activities comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations, maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related technical certification.

Experience: Previous experience in a mechanical workshop, manufacturing plant, or R&D prototyping environment is preferred.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings, schematics, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Hands-on experience with workshop tools, including lathes, mills, drill presses, and precision measuring instruments.

Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Fusion 360).

Basic knowledge of material properties, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical drive systems.
