We are seeking a talented, hands-on DevOps Engineer (AWS Cloud, Linux/Unix) to lead the cloud infrastructure and automation strategy for our new luxury hotel and resort during the pre-opening and operational phases. This critical technical role will design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available IT systems that support hotel operations, digital guest experiences, Property Management Systems (PMS), booking engines, websites, and internal tools.
As DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with the General Manager, IT Manager, Digital Marketing, and Finance teams to ensure robust technology foundations from day one of the pre-opening project.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & Automation

Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, CloudFront, etc.) for hotel systems.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
Set up CI/CD pipelines for applications, websites, and internal tools.

Linux/Unix Systems Administration

Manage and optimize Linux/Unix servers, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and hybrid environments.
Ensure high availability, performance tuning, monitoring, and backup strategies.

Hotel Technology Integration

Support integration and deployment of key hospitality systems: PMS (Opera or similar), POS, CRM, booking engines, and digital platforms.
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK stack, etc.).
Automate operational processes to support pre-opening setup and daily hotel operations.

Security & Compliance

Implement security best practices, IAM policies, network security, and compliance with data protection regulations (PDPA, GDPR).
Support document verification and audit readiness for all cloud assets, licenses, and infrastructure documentation.
Manage disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

Collaboration & Support

Work with development, digital, and operations teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance.
Provide technical guidance and training to internal IT and operations staff.
Manage cloud costs and optimize resource utilization.

Pre-Opening Focus

Build the complete cloud foundation and DevOps practices during the hotel set-up phase.
Prepare infrastructure for soft opening, grand opening campaigns, and high-traffic events.

Requirements & Qualifications
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

Experience

5–10+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud (certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect preferred).
Solid expertise in Linux/Unix administration and scripting (Bash, Python).

Technical Skills

Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins/GitLab CI, Git.
Experience with monitoring tools, networking, security, and database management.
Knowledge of hospitality systems (PMS, Opera, Micros) is a strong advantage.

Language & Soft Skills

Excellent command of English (spoken and written). Vietnamese is a plus.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced pre-opening environment.
