We are seeking a seasoned, zealous, and highly articulate Pro Bono Court Advocate to represent the interests of our community members in administrative or judicial hearings. In this role, you will provide critical legal representation for individuals who lack access to counsel, ensuring their stories are heard, their rights are protected, and the legal process remains fair. Key Responsibilities
Legal Representation: Serve as lead counsel in administrative hearings, mediation sessions, or court proceedings, advocating for clients in matters such as housing disputes, public benefits denials, or civil rights violations.

Case Strategy & Preparation: Develop robust legal theories, gather and organize evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare clients for testimony to ensure a well-supported and persuasive case.

Legal Research & Writing: Draft necessary legal filings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements, ensuring all submissions are legally sound and compliant with procedural rules.

Client Counseling: Provide empathetic and clear guidance to clients regarding their legal options, potential risks, and the hearing process, managing expectations and empowering them through informed decision-making.

Negotiation & Advocacy: Represent client interests in settlement conferences and negotiations with opposing counsel or government representatives, striving for favorable and timely resolutions.

Procedural Navigation: Master the unique rules and norms of the specific tribunals or administrative bodies where you represent clients, ensuring all deadlines and filing requirements are met.

Expert Testimony Coordination: Identify, prepare, and manage expert witnesses when technical or specialized testimony is required to bolster the case.

Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree; active bar membership in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction is strictly required.

Experience: 5+ years of litigation or hearing experience; strong preference for candidates with a background in public interest law, legal aid, or criminal defense.

Technical Skills:

Expertise in rules of evidence, civil procedure, and motion practice.

Strong aptitude for legal research (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and document management.

Experience with electronic filing systems and digital case management.
