JOB DESCRIPTION: Media Planner / Media Buyer
Job Responsibilities
Media Strategy Development: Design comprehensive media plans that align with business objectives, identifying the most effective mix of channels (Social, Search, Display, Programmatic, KOLs, and Offline) to reach the target audience.
Media Buying & Negotiation: Negotiate rates, placements, and sponsorship packages with media owners, influencers, agencies, and E-commerce platforms (Shopee, Lazada, TikTok) to ensure the best possible value and placement.
Campaign Execution: Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, from issuing insertion orders (IOs) to ensuring assets are delivered and campaigns go live on time across all channels.
Budget Management: Allocate media budgets across channels, monitoring spending daily to ensure adherence to financial plans while maximizing reach, frequency, and conversion goals.
Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor campaign performance metrics (CPM, CPC, CPV, ROI). Pivot strategies and reallocate budget in real-time to high-performing channels or placements.
Reporting & Insights: Prepare detailed post-campaign analysis reports, highlighting key learnings, cost-efficiency, and audience behavior insights to guide future planning.
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with publishers, media vendors, and platform representatives to gain early access to new ad formats, inventory, or beta features.
Market Research: Stay updated on media trends, changing algorithm structures, and competitor media activity to maintain a competitive advantage.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Media Communications, Economics, or related fields.
Experience: 2–5+ years of experience in media planning and buying (agency experience is highly preferred).
Technical Skills:
Strong expertise in Media Planning tools and Ad Tech platforms (DSP, SSP, Ad Servers).
Deep proficiency in Microsoft Excel (for budget modeling, forecasting, and data analysis).
Hands-on experience with platform-native ad tools (Meta Ads, TikTok Ads Manager, Google Ads, DV360).
Ability to interpret complex data to make evidence-based media decisions.
Soft Skills:
Negotiation Skills: Ability to strike hard bargains and build long-term partnerships with vendors.
Analytical Rigor: A data-driven mindset to analyze reach, frequency, and attribution models.
Organization: High attention to detail for handling complex media schedules, invoices, and legal contracts.
