JOB DESCRIPTION: Promotion / Trade Marketing Specialist
Job Responsibilities
Trade Strategy Development: Design and execute trade marketing strategies to drive product sell-through and shelf/platform visibility in modern trade, traditional trade, or E-commerce channels.
Promotion Calendar Management: Plan, calendar, and coordinate promotional activities, including bundling, discount structures, and "GWP" (Gift With Purchase) campaigns to boost retail sales.
Channel Activation: Work closely with sales teams and key account managers (KAMs) to ensure trade initiatives are effectively implemented at the point of sale, whether in-store or on online marketplace landing pages.
Merchandising & POSM: Oversee the development and distribution of Point-of-Sale Materials (POSM) and visual merchandising tools to ensure the brand stands out against competitors.
Sales Data Analysis: Monitor sales performance, inventory levels, and off-take data. Use these insights to optimize future promotions and forecast stock requirements for trade activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the bridge between Marketing (Brand strategy) and Sales (execution). Ensure all trade activities align with brand guidelines and promotional budgets.
Competitor Benchmarking: Regularly conduct trade audits or "store checks" (physical or online) to monitor competitor promotions, pricing, and distribution strategies.
Budgeting & ROI: Manage trade marketing budgets, ensuring all activities deliver a positive return on investment (ROI) through increased volume or brand presence.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related fields.
Experience: 2–4 years of experience in trade marketing, sales support, or retail marketing, preferably in FMCG or high-volume consumer goods.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in Data Analysis (Excel mastery, specifically Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP) to track performance.
Solid understanding of the Retail/E-commerce landscape and sales funnel mechanics.
Experience in Budgeting and Cost Management.
Soft Skills:
Commercial Mindset: Ability to balance brand aspirations with the hard realities of sales targets and margins.
Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional skills in influencing sales teams and managing external agencies/vendors.
Action-Oriented: A "boots-on-the-ground" mentality with the ability to solve execution problems quickly.
