Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled, passionate, and highly organized Restaurant Cook to join our culinary team. Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation: Execute daily meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing proteins, cooking entrées, and assembling dishes according to standardized recipes and portion controls.
Kitchen Operations: Manage station efficiency during peak service hours, ensuring that food is cooked to the correct temperature, plated aesthetically, and delivered in a timely manner.
Quality Control: Taste-test food for seasoning, temperature, and consistency, ensuring that every dish leaving the kitchen meets our quality standards.
Sanitation & Safety: Adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene protocols (HACCP), including proper food storage, equipment sanitation, and cross-contamination prevention.
Inventory & Waste Management: Monitor ingredient levels, rotate stock using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) methods, and communicate supply needs to the head chef to minimize waste.
Station Maintenance: Maintain a pristine workspace throughout the shift, including deep cleaning equipment, utensils, and work surfaces at the start and end of service.
Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house personnel to coordinate order flow and ensure a smooth dining experience.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; formal culinary training or a culinary degree is highly preferred.
Experience: 2–4+ years of experience in a professional kitchen environment, demonstrating expertise in various cooking methods (grilling, sautéing, baking, etc.).
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of professional kitchen tools, equipment, and knife skills.
Deep understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation requirements.
Ability to follow complex recipes precisely while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Personal Attributes:
Highly reliable, disciplined, and focused with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to work calmly and efficiently under extreme pressure during high-volume periods.
Strong team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
