We are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and engaging Arts Salesperson to join our gallery, boutique, or creative consultancy. In this role, you will serve as a curator and consultant for our clients, helping them discover and acquire pieces that resonate with their aesthetic or professional goals. You will balance deep product knowledge—ranging from fine arts to artisan crafts—with a high level of customer service, building long-term relationships with collectors and enthusiasts alike. If you have an appreciation for creative works, the ability to articulate the "story" behind a piece, and a drive to meet sales targets, this is an outstanding opportunity to blend your passion for the arts with a professional sales career.
Key Responsibilities
Client Consultation: Engage with customers to understand their specific tastes, decorative needs, or investment interests, providing personalized recommendations that align with their vision.
Art & Product Expertise: Maintain an in-depth knowledge of our inventory, including artist backgrounds, techniques, provenance, materials, and current market trends in the art world.
Sales & Relationship Management: Proactively cultivate a client base, manage sales transactions, and follow up with patrons to nurture long-term relationships and drive repeat business.
Visual Merchandising: Curate and maintain the visual appeal of the sales space, ensuring that artworks and artisan items are displayed effectively to engage potential buyers.
Documentation & Logistics: Manage the administrative side of sales, including certificates of authenticity, insurance documentation, shipping/handling arrangements, and inventory tracking.
Event Support: Assist with gallery openings, artist showcases, exhibitions, and networking events designed to expand our market reach and brand awareness.
Sales Goal Achievement: Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets by utilizing effective closing techniques and creative promotion of featured items.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Business, or a related field is highly preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in art retail, gallery management, or high-end luxury sales is strongly desired.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and basic CRM software for client management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to speak eloquently about creative works.
Familiarity with digital marketing or social media platforms to showcase new arrivals.
