We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and visionary Hotel General Manager to lead the pre-opening and set-up phase of a new luxury [4-star / 5-star / boutique resort] property in Vietnam. This is a unique opportunity to build and shape all hotel operations from the ground up — from team recruitment and systems implementation to brand standards establishment and grand opening readiness.
As the Pre-Opening General Manager, you will report directly to ownership/investors and work closely with the project development team. You will be responsible for strategic planning, operational readiness, team building, vendor coordination, and ensuring the hotel launches successfully with the highest international service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Opening Planning & Execution

Lead the entire pre-opening process including timeline development, budget control, and milestone tracking.
Develop and implement all standard operating procedures (SOPs), service standards, and brand guidelines.
Coordinate with architects, interior designers, FF&E suppliers, and contractors for seamless project handover.

Team Recruitment & Development

Build and lead the core pre-opening team (Department Heads, Supervisors, and key staff).
Design and execute comprehensive training programs for all departments.
Establish a strong company culture focused on service excellence and operational efficiency.

Operations Setup

Oversee the setup of all departments: Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Engineering, Finance, Sales & Marketing, HR, Purchasing, and Security.
Implement Property Management System (PMS), POS, and other hotel technology platforms.
Establish inventory, procurement systems, and vendor contracts.

Quality, Compliance & Revenue Readiness

Ensure full compliance with local regulations, health & safety, fire safety, and brand standards.
Prepare the hotel for soft opening and grand opening events.
Develop pre-opening sales & marketing strategies, pricing, and revenue management systems.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

Act as the main point of contact between ownership, project team, and future hotel operations.
Manage pre-opening budget and control costs effectively.
Build strong relationships with government authorities, local community, and industry partners.

Post-Opening Transition

Successfully transition the hotel into full operational mode.
Continue as General Manager to lead day-to-day operations after opening (preferred).

Requirements & Qualifications
Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

Experience

8–15+ years of progressive experience in luxury hotels or resorts.
Minimum 3–5 years as General Manager or Hotel Manager in a pre-opening or new property launch.
Proven track record in successfully opening new hotels or resorts in Vietnam or Southeast Asia is highly desirable.
Strong background in 4–5 star international chain hotels (preferred).

Technical & Language Skills

Deep knowledge of hotel pre-opening processes and operational best practices.
Proficiency in Opera PMS, Micros, or similar systems.
Excellent command of English (both spoken and written). Vietnamese proficiency is a strong advantage. Additional languages are welcome.
