We are seeking a polished, observant, and highly articulate Gallery Attendant to manage the safety, presentation, and visitor experience within our exhibition spaces. In this role, you will serve as the primary bridge between the public and the exhibited works, balancing a welcoming hospitality approach with strict security monitoring. You will be responsible for safeguarding highly valuable artwork, historical artifacts, or contemporary installations from accidental damage or theft while proactively sharing background insights with diverse visitors. Key Responsibilities
Artwork Safeguarding & Monitoring: Maintain an active, highly visible presence across assigned gallery rooms to ensure visitors strictly adhere to venue rules (e.g., no touching exhibits, appropriate photography rules, keeping safe distances).

Visitor Reception & Orientation: Greet gallery guests warmly, distribute exhibition booklets or maps, and provide accurate directional assistance regarding facility layouts, public amenities, and exit routes.

Educational Engagement: Actively memorize artist biographies, historical contexts, and curatorial concepts for current exhibitions to answer visitor inquiries enthusiastically and enrich their cultural experience.

Aesthetic & Facility Upkeep: Inspect the physical condition of artworks, display cases, gallery walls, and object labels continuously throughout the shift, reporting any signs of smudges, environmental shifting, or damage immediately to curators.

Crowd & Noise Management: Gently manage visitor traffic and volume during peak hours, school tours, or private opening receptions to maintain a serene, contemplative atmosphere fitting for an art space.

Ticketing & Retail Support: Assist at the reception desk with ticket scanning, managing guest registration logs, and processing catalog or merchandise sales via digital Point of Sale (POS) terminals when required.

Opening & Closing Operations: Execute strict daily facility protocols, including turning on specialized exhibition lighting, verifying security locks, and checking climate control readings (humidity and temperature) upon opening and wrap.

Requirements & Qualifications
Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience; coursework or a degree in Fine Arts, Art History, Museum Studies, Archeology, or Hospitality is highly preferred.

Experience: 0–2+ years of experience in museum or gallery operations, high-end customer service, luxury hospitality, tour guiding, or premium retail environments.

Technical Skills:

Basic proficiency in operating touchscreen POS systems, digital guest-check-in applications, and basic multi-channel 2-way radios.

Familiarity with standard art museum etiquette, conservation terminology, and loss prevention protocols.

Ability to read, interpret, and explain floor layouts, exhibition itineraries, and curatorial texts accurately.
