We are seeking a knowledgeable, articulate, and customer-focused Information Clerk to serve as the primary source of guidance and assistance for our visitors and callers. In this role, you will be responsible for gathering, verifying, and disseminating accurate information regarding company services, programs, and general inquiries. Key Responsibilities
Inquiry Management: Respond to a wide range of requests from the public or internal staff, providing accurate information about organizational policies, procedures, and service offerings.
Information Retrieval: Research and verify data using various databases, directories, and internal resources to ensure that the information provided is current and reliable.
Customer Guidance: Assist individuals in navigating our facilities or systems, providing clear directions, troubleshooting basic procedural issues, and explaining necessary requirements.
Documentation & Records: Maintain accurate logs of inquiries and resolutions, ensuring that frequently asked questions are documented to improve our knowledge base.
Communication Liaison: Act as a bridge between various departments, ensuring that callers or visitors are connected to the appropriate subject matter experts when necessary.
Conflict De-escalation: Handle frustrated or confused individuals with empathy and composure, focusing on finding solutions and providing clarity.
Public Representation: Act as an ambassador for the organization, maintaining a professional demeanor that reflects our commitment to service and accessibility.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in communications, customer service, or information management is a plus.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in an information desk, call center, or customer service role.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in using digital databases, search engines, and internal ticketing or CRM systems.
Strong ability to navigate multiple information sources simultaneously.
Experience with office equipment such as multi-line phone systems and basic computer software.
