We are seeking a creative, technically proficient, and forward-thinking Lecturer in Digital Communication and Multimedia Design to join our faculty. You will sit at the intersection of aesthetic storytelling and technical execution, preparing students to become the next generation of multimedia producers, UX/UI designers, and digital strategists. Your mission is to foster a learning environment where students master the art of effective communication across diverse digital platforms through both creative intuition and data-informed design.
Job Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery: Lead courses in Multimedia Design, Digital Storytelling, Interactive Media, UI/UX Design, Motion Graphics, Social Media Production, and Digital Communication Strategy.
Curriculum Innovation: Develop a curriculum that stays current with the rapid evolution of digital tools and media formats—including immersive media (AR/VR), generative AI in design, and cross-platform content ecosystems.
Creative Lab Facilitation: Oversee intensive design labs where students work with industry-standard software (Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Webflow, etc.) to produce professional-grade portfolios, interactive prototypes, and multimedia campaigns.
Research & Scholarship: Engage in research concerning the impact of digital media on society, evolving modes of human-computer interaction, visual communication theory, or the ethics of digital design.
Capstone Mentorship: Mentor students through final-year capstone projects, guiding them through the lifecycle of a multimedia product—from conceptual ideation and user research to final execution and distribution.
Industry & Lab Engagement: Cultivate partnerships with design studios, tech companies, and media organizations to bring real-world challenges into the classroom and facilitate internships for students.
Departmental Collaboration: Contribute to faculty committees, program accreditation, and departmental initiatives to maintain a competitive, cutting-edge educational program.
Job Requirements
Education: Master’s degree in Multimedia Design, Digital Communication, Interaction Design, Visual Arts, or a related field (a PhD or MFA is highly preferred).
Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in graphic design, UX/UI, multimedia production, or digital content strategy, combined with prior teaching or professional training experience.
Technical Skills:
Strong command of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
Proficiency in UI/UX design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) and basic familiarity with front-end web technologies (HTML/CSS).
Understanding of digital workflow, asset management, and technical standards for different media platforms.
Soft Skills:
Creative Vision: The ability to push students to develop their own unique "visual voice" while adhering to functional design principles.
Translational Ability: Skill in teaching technical concepts to non-technical students and creative/design concepts to students with a technical background.
Empathy-Driven Design: A strong commitment to user-centric principles and inclusive/accessible design.
Adaptability: A relentless curiosity and eagerness to experiment with new design technologies and evolving digital mediums.
Benefits
Competitive Compensation: Attractive academic salary package with potential for research grants and creative consulting funding.
Professional Development: Support for industry certifications, attending creative/tech conferences (e.g., Adobe MAX, UX design summits), and ongoing creative projects.
Collaborative Environment: Access to state-of-the-art creative labs, media studios, and a vibrant community of faculty who value innovation at the intersection of art and tech.
Comprehensive Benefits: Full insurance coverage, academic leave, and retirement benefits in accordance with local labor laws.
