Check with seller Lecturer, Department of Software Engineering
- Location: Hai Phong City, vietnam
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Lecturer for the Department of Software Engineering to help shape the future of our software professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between rigorous computer science theory and the practical realities of modern industrial software development. Your goal is to foster an environment where students master the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)—from architecture and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance—preparing them for high-impact careers in the tech industry.
Job Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery: Teach core software engineering modules, including Software Architecture & Design Patterns, Web/Mobile Application Development, Requirements Engineering, Software Testing & Quality Assurance, and DevOps.
Curriculum Development: Continuously update curricula to integrate industry-standard practices, such as Agile/Scrum methodologies, Cloud-Native development, microservices architecture, and clean code principles.
Practical Laboratory Leadership: Facilitate hands-on lab sessions that emphasize professional development workflows: version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and collaborative team-based coding.
Capstone Mentorship: Supervise student capstone projects, guiding them through the lifecycle of professional-grade software development, from conception to final delivery.
Research & Scholarship: Engage in active research in areas such as software evolution, formal methods, human-computer interaction, or AI-assisted software engineering.
Academic Assessment: Design and administer rigorous assessments—ranging from coding challenges and system design reviews to technical documentation—that mirror professional engineering standards.
Professional Engagement: Actively participate in faculty committees, curriculum accreditation processes, and industry partnerships to ensure the department remains at the forefront of software engineering education.
Job Requirements
Education: Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (a PhD is strongly preferred).
Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in software development, software architecture, or engineering management, combined with prior tertiary-level teaching experience.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in at least two major programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, TypeScript/JavaScript).
Strong understanding of modern architectural patterns (e.g., MVC, Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture).
Experience with modern development ecosystems, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and automated testing frameworks.
Soft Skills:
Communication: Ability to distill complex technical abstractions (like design patterns or system design tradeoffs) into clear, teachable concepts.
Mentorship: A passion for guiding students through the often-challenging process of learning to think like an engineer.
Adaptability: A commitment to continuous learning as software frameworks, languages, and methodologies evolve at high velocity.
Collaboration: Aptitude for working within cross-functional faculty teams and building relationships with industry partners.
Benefits
Competitive Compensation: Attractive academic salary package with potential for research grants and consulting opportunities.
Professional Development: Support for industry certifications, research publishing, and attendance at top-tier software engineering and academic conferences.
Intellectual Environment: An opportunity to collaborate with industry-savvy faculty and contribute to innovative research within a top-tier department.
Comprehensive Benefits: Full insurance coverage, academic leave, and retirement benefits in accordance with local labor laws.
Career Growth: Defined pathways to Tenured Associate Professor, Department Chair, or Faculty Dean.
Lecturer in Software Engineering, Software Engineering Instructor, Assistant Professor (SE), Software Architecture Faculty, Computer Science Lecturer.
Industry Keywords: SDLC, Software Architecture, Design Patterns, DevOps, Agile/Scrum, Requirements Engineering, Software Testing, Cloud Computing, Microservices.
Attributes: Analytical, Pragmatic, Collaborative, Articulate, Systems-focused, Research-driven.
