JOB DESCRIPTION: E-commerce Product Operations / Merchandising Specialist
Job Responsibilities
Merchandising Strategy: Define and execute the product presentation strategy to maximize sales, increase conversion rates, and ensure an optimal customer shopping experience across all categories.
Assortment Planning: Analyze product performance data to curate, prioritize, and rotate the product catalog. Identify "hero" products, slow-moving stock, and seasonal trends to optimize the product mix.
Stock & Availability Management: Work closely with the supply chain and procurement teams to manage stock depth, forecast demand for key campaigns, and ensure top-selling items are always available.
Pricing & Promo Strategy: Implement and monitor pricing strategies (e.g., dynamic pricing, bundle deals, tiered discounts) to maintain market competitiveness while protecting profit margins.
Category Performance Tracking: Track category-level metrics (category growth, product penetration, and share of voice) and provide actionable recommendations for assortment adjustments.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with the Marketing team to align seasonal product launches with promotional calendars and with the Content team to ensure products are showcased effectively (e.g., featuring key USPs).
Competitor Analysis: Regularly audit competitor assortments, pricing, and promotional tactics to identify market gaps and opportunities for expansion.
Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the end-to-end product journey, from new product introduction (NPI) and onboarding to phase-out and clearance of discontinued stock.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related fields.
Experience: 2–4+ years of experience in E-commerce merchandising, category management, or product operations.
Technical Skills:
Strong Data Analysis skills (Expert in Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus).
Deep understanding of E-commerce metrics (Conversion Rate, GMV, Sell-through Rate, Inventory Turnover).
Familiarity with P&L management and the impact of pricing/discounts on net margins.
Soft Skills:
Commercial Acumen: Ability to think like a merchant—understanding what drives customer demand and how to turn it into profit.
Analytical Rigor: Ability to turn large volumes of SKU-level data into clear, strategic category decisions.
Influencing Skills: Ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional stakeholders (Marketing, Logistics, Sales).
