1. Job Objective
The Supermarket Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety of customers, staff, and company assets within the retail environment. The role focuses on loss prevention, monitoring customer behavior to deter theft, and maintaining a secure, orderly shopping experience.

2. Key Responsibilities
Loss Prevention: Monitor the sales floor and checkout areas to detect and prevent shoplifting or suspicious activities.

Customer Assistance: Greet customers, provide general information, and assist in maintaining order at entrances and exits.

Surveillance: Operate and monitor CCTV systems to track store activity and identify potential security risks or safety hazards.

Access & Crowd Control: Manage customer flow during peak hours; monitor employee-only areas to ensure restricted access.

Incident Management: Respond to emergencies such as medical incidents, fire alarms, or unruly behavior; coordinate with store management and local authorities when necessary.

Equipment Inspection: Check electronic article surveillance (EAS) gates and security tags to ensure they are functioning correctly.

Reporting: Document any incidents, thefts, or accidents in the daily security log and report findings to the store manager.

3. Job Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 1–3 years of experience in security or retail loss prevention is preferred.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in monitoring CCTV systems and alarm panels.

Ability to use communication equipment (walkie-talkies).

Basic knowledge of retail security protocols and legal guidelines regarding detention and search.

Soft Skills:

Vigilance: Sharp observation skills to identify suspicious behaviors in a crowded environment.
